The Jeffersons is an American sitcom, featuring an African-American family who moves into a luxury apartment building. The family includes George Jefferson, his wife, Louise, and Lionel, an engineering major at a local college. George Jefferson is the black version of Archie Bunker as they both are loud-mouthed, opinionated and set in their bigoted ways. The family’s fledgling dry-cleaning business, Jefferson Cleaners, had successfully grown into a small chain. Therefore, they move to a "deluxe apartment in the sky" in Manhattan with their newfound wealth.
